News & Events
e-HLbc now offers a license to the Canadian Health Research Collection; Ovid and EBSCO held training sessions across BC; e-HLbc welcomes the BC Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and much more.
Success Story: Becoming a Power User
It takes time to become a "power user." This affectionate title is given to the practitioners and students who use e-HLbc's resources most effectively. Anar Dhalla, a Master’s student in Health Care and Epidemiology at UBC’s School of Population and Public Health, has become very good at getting the most information out of her searches.
Creating an Advocacy-Oriented Organization
As North America continues to feel the effects of a sustained global recession, there is increased demand that libraries demonstrate the value they bring to their organization, its stakeholders and the wider community. To meet this demand, it is necessary that all library staff become advocates.
Member Profile: Vancouver Community College
When you work in the Vancouver Community College library, you’re reminded frequently that VCC is a unique institution. Students drop by after a class in diesel mechanics, baking, or hair esthetics, and they often dress the part, wearing coveralls, chef’s whites, or this season’s most fashionable boots.
Notes from the Chair
Since 2006, e-HLbc has been focused on obtaining the most cost effective access to health information for our members. We are a unique organization in Canada, and we are justifiably proud of what has been accomplished over the past four years. It's now time to look to the future and forge a path forward by engaging in strategic planning.
